Tridecyl Trimellitate Description
Tridecyl trimellitate is a synthetic ingredient used as a skin-softening emollient, film-forming agent, and texture-enhancing ingredient. It is also touted as an excellent cosmetic pigment dispersant.
As a raw material, tridecyl trimellitate is described as a high-viscosity liquid.
The Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel assessment (completed in 2015) concluded that tridecyl trimellitate is safe in cosmetics. Based on their survey results, the maximum reported concentration of use was 57.1% in lipstick formulations.
