Peucedanum Graveolens (Dill) Extract Description
extract) is a plant extract with research showing it can improve skin’s resiliency and work as an antioxidant. Best known as a seasoning ingredient in food (it gives dill pickles their signature flavor), dill also has a calming action on sensitized skin.
Dill is a rich source of minerals such as iron and potassium as well as beta-carotene. Its anti-aging benefits have been looked at in vitro and in vivo, on what’s known as dermal equivalents (human skin samples). Ongoing research is showing that dill is among the more interesting, multi-beneficial ingredients to consider for diminishing signs of aging, most notably a loss of firmness.
As is the case with all antioxidants, dill has synergy with other ingredients in this category. For example, Johnson & Johnson published research showing the mix of dill with blackberry extract had more impressive results on visible firmness than dill alone.
