Hydrogenated olive oil unsaponifiables are substances that cannot be further broken down or saponified during olive oil production, for this reason they’re considered a more sustainable, upcycled material. In skin care formulas, this ingredient serves as a hydrating emollient and anti-aging antioxidant.

Hydrogenated olive oil unsaponifiables are notably squalene-rich. The body naturally produces squalene as a part of our sebum, and it notably helps prevent moisture loss. This skin care ingredient also contains phytosterols and tocopherols that work as antioxidants to assist skin in defending from pro-aging external agents, which can result in fewer wrinkles and fine lines as well as damage-related dark spots.
